Restoration House Transitional Living Facilities

New Hope Outreach and Kaitlin's Heart have joined prayers and resources to provide safe shelters for displaced women and children. Our combined goal is to provide homes where these women and children can find sanctuary, support and a new start in life. It is our desire to provide a Restoration House facility in every state.

Restoration House
Goals and Objectives:

Restoration House Transitional Living Facilities will provide safe 24 hour a day 7 day a week housing for women (and their children) who want to develop their personal life-skills and work skills as they recover from all forms of trauma. We will provide a Christ-centered supportive, compassionate, moral, nurturing, hope-filled environment for a biblical mind/body/spirit connection for personal growth and healing while assisting these women in achieving emotional and economic stability.

The following are primary goals for Restoration House Transitional Living Facilities:

  1. Break the cycle of domestic violence, sexual abuse, child abuse and addictions for the next generation by providing Bible-based support groups and personal mentoring and counseling.
  2. Evaluate physical, emotional, spiritual, and personal needs and create and implement advocacy programs, provide for counseling, and/or refer the victim to those agencies or persons that can provide the services needed.
  3. Provide office hours and meeting rooms for needed community service programs to be on site to provide their resources or needed assistance.
  4. Assist with job training and placement, resume writing, continuing education, etc.
  5. Restore victims' faith in God, the family, the criminal justice system, and community support.
  6. Increase reporting and reduce attrition rates for cases involving violent crimes against women and children, including child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence.
  7. Create, develop, and implement a program of transitional care for women and their children after our intervention so as to manage appropriate follow-up.
  8. Provide child abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence prevention education as an outreach to community schools, churches, businesses, etc.

Children's Services:
  1. Case management; activities that model non-violent behavior; mentors to develop educational curriculum, healthy relationship education, coping strategies.
  2. Programs to include Bible study, art therapy for children, tutoring, field trips and computer training skills. Children will attend school or day care.

The children's program will offer practical and innovative programming to allow the children and youth of these newly relocated families to move beyond their vulnerabilities and become more confident and secure in their lives.

Our parenting education program will help train parents with positive communication skills, discipline strategies as well as support improved parent-teacher communications.

To Qualify for Services:

Women must be 18 years or older and must pass a drug test prior to admission and agree to random drug tests during their stay. An interview is required by Restoration House directors.

Length of Housing:

It takes considerable time to successfully transition each person or family moving into the residence. It takes time, training and healing to realize economic self-sufficiency. Participants may stay at the facilities from 6 months to two years as long as they are seriously working with their transition program.

Each resident will be required to save a percentage of their income towards permanent housing. We will provide financial counselors and assistance with setting up savings and checking accounts.
